Mayte discovered Navakaraṇa in 2021 through social media. Something sparked her curiosity and a deep desire to explore further. Driven by this curiosity, she continued her research until she found Nidia Díaz in Asturias, where she attended one of her workshops.
That experience marked a turning point in her practice. The way of moving, of feeling her body, and of relating to the practice resonated deeply within her. During the following years, she continued to engage with the method whenever she had the opportunity, participating in workshops and occasional classes, as distance and scheduling conflicts made more regular practice difficult.
When the opportunity arose in 2026 to complete Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa Hrdayam Alumnu Teacher Training Grounding & Opening (Module 1), she felt it was time to take the step she had been waiting for for years. She completed her training with Nidia Díaz and is graduated by Dario Calvaruso, delving deeper into a method that had already transformed her understanding of movement and practice.
Yoga and Pilates teacher since 2020, dancer and oriental dance teacher for more than 10 years.
Mayte runs her own studio in Sama de Langreo, Asturias, where she accompanies people of different ages and experiences on their journey towards a more conscious, strong and kind relationship with their body.
Navakaraṇa has meant much more to her than just a physical practice. It has been a tool for personal transformation that has helped her develop greater self-confidence, discover an inner strength she did not know she possessed, and cope with significant changes in her life. Today, she shares this practice with gratitude, respect, and a desire to offer others a space to explore their own potential through movement.
