Navakaraṇa Vidyā

Learning while earning: a community support for personal and professional growth.

Concept and Objectives

 Vidyā literally means  “learning and scholarship”.  Navakaraṇa Vidyā is a programme fr navakaraṇa teacher where thye can learn  while earning. It is a community support for personal and professional growth.  Vidyā is subdivided in these programmes:

– Referral Programme;

– Orientation Programme;

– Tutoring Programme;

– Mentorship Programme.

The objectives of these programmes are:

–  help, support and prepare new students who have registered for the TTC to enter the course with ease;

– help, support and prepare Authorised Navakaraṇa Teachers in gaining financial support, earning from new programmes, gain professional tutoring/mentoring experience and eventually entering into the role of Alumnus.

Eligibility

Referral Programme: every graduate / any level can benefit from the Referral Programme and earn finacial bonous for their studies.

Faculty Programmes: Level 2 or above graduates can apply for Tutoring, Mentorship and/or Orientation Programmes.

Referral Programme

Essentially the “Referral Programme” consists in referring new students to the Teacher Trainings and earning financial bonus for each successful registration. Any Authorised Graduate Teacher who refers new students to Navakaraṇa TTC via the referral link (copied from “My Account” Teacher Dashboard) will be automatically credited with a referral bonus of USD108 for each successful registration to Master Teacher Training Programme: Grounding & Opening and/or Power & Control (any package) and USD81 for each successful registration to Alumnus Teacher Training Programme: Grounding & Opening and/or Power & Control (any package).

Authorised Graduate Teachers can use the referral bonus as scholarship as discount voucher towards future Navakaraṇa Teacher Training Programmes. The referral bonus shall be gained only by automatic registration of the new student via Navakaraṇa website. The financial bonus cannot be converted into cash or claimed in any forms of payment.

How to use the referral link

The referral link can be shared with any new students either via chat, email, web-link and social medias.

Regulation

The person referred must be a new student who has never attended Navakaraṇa Workshops or Teacher Training Programmes.

Authorised Graduate Teacher who are conducting Tutoring, Orientation and/or Mentorship Programmes, still can benefit from the Referral Programme. Thus beside the earnings from the programme, they can earn also the financial bonus for their studies.

Orientation Programme

A programme for Authorised Navakaraṇa studio owners.

Type of course: bridging course to Navakaraṇa Teacher Training

Objective: to prepare an outstanding student to enter the role of Navakaraṇa Teacher in your studio immediately after the TTC.

Orientation Programme Syllabus

The Orientation Programme is a tool intended for a Navakaraṇa Studio to prepare a selected student entering the role of teaching. The student must be committed to take the role of a Teacher in same studio for a minimum of 2 years immediately after completing the TTC. The syllabus must follow the Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa Hṛdayam Syllabus yet should be personalised to fit the studio requirements and setting.

The Syllabus should emphasises on:

– essential fundamental theories;

– preparation in learning the series for the module for which the applicant has registered;

– practical hours of practice;

– assisting the tutor in class;

– fundamental teaching skills;

– studio management, studio settings, preparation of the classes; customer services, bookings and memberships.

By the end of the programme the tutor should provide a detailed resumé of the students’s learning, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses. In particular the tutor should list the topics which were not covered in full or where the student found difficulties in learning.

Tutoring

A programme for experienced Authorised Navakaraṇa Teachers with regular students base and/or a minimum of 3 TTC referred students.

Integration of Tutoring Programme with Master TTC or Alumnus TTC

Tutors should work at unison wirth Master and Alumnus in order to prepare to the new students to the TTC. 

 

Tutoring Syllabus

Tutoring is intended to prepare students to enter the TTC.

The syllabus is comprehensive of the practice yet provide only a guideline to facilitate entering into the course. 

The Syllabus includes:

– Introduction to Navakaraṇa Tantra and Navakaraṇa Vinyāsa;

– Fundamental theories: viniyoga, karaṇa, vinyāsa, bhāga, krama, sāraṇī, maṇḍala;

– How to read the krama;

– The importance of Anukramaṇī, how to write and apply in practice; 

– Series practice, example of deconstruction of a few selected vinyāsa, demonstration of teaching;

– Considerations and encouragement;

Mentoring

Mentorship Programme

A 16.5-hour in-person ongoing supporting programme during the Teacher Training Course follow-up by 9-hour online and e-learning courses at the conclusion of the Teacher Training Course taught by faculties team (master, alumnus, and mentors) specifically designed for graduating / newly graduated TTC students. This course has the objective to offer mentoring to the students during the full programme of the TTC and review of the most important contents at the conclusion of the Teacher Training Course. 

Eligibility

Level-2 or above teachers who commit to mentor TTC students for the whole duration of the training and follow-up programme are eligible to be a mentor.

TTC Faculty Team

TTC Faculty Team includes: 

– Master and/or Alumnus;

– Mentors (one or two depending on the number of students and TTC requirements). 

Faculty Team is co-teaching the mentorship programme.

Format

Mentorship programme is conducted:

– in-person: mentoring during the TTC;

– e-learning: including virtual contents and online sessions.

Schedule

– 7:00 – 8:30 content review during the TTC (tot. 16.5 hours);

– mentor and/or translator during TTC hours; 

– online TTC follow-up programme including review of the series and basic teaching skills (tot. 9 hours). Online lessons schedule will be decided for each course upon faculties confirmation. 

Application

Application should be sent at least 90 days in advance prior the commencement of the TTC. 

Mentoring Syllabus

In-person syllabus

  • daily review of TTC methodology contents;
  • daily review of TTC sequence, anukramaṇī and karaṇa names;
  • tuning;
  • prārthanā;
  • counting and breath chanting;

Virtual syllabus

  • prārthanā;
  • counting and breath chanting;
  • karaṇa names and meanings; 
  • review of all the 3 series;
  • anything necessary where students is lacking understanding. 

Additional Virtual Mentoring contents 

  • Answering students’ questions;
  • Creating Virtual Tutorials (each faculties may request to record videos / audios contents fitting the purpose of the mentoring). Contents can be used by the author (i.e. mentor)  for future mentoring and Navakaraṇa Academy online private classes. Contents for the Mentoring programme are assigned by Faculty to the mentor prior the training.  

9 online session contents:

– each session one krama, insight into Teaching Skills, Methodology and/or Q/A.

Mentor Benefits

Mentoring provides graduates with:

  • a solid knowledge on delivering  the fundamental concepts of the Navakarana Method;
  • apprenticeship in learning the role of faculty;
  • create self-confidence as teacher in a professional setting;
  • having an understanding and awareness of different bodies and personalise the practice for students;
  • earning from learning: as beside the learning value of the mentoring experience, mentor earns based on the number of signed-ups. Mentor can either add the earnings into his/her wallet or received the payment  in his/her bank account. 

Regulations

Faculties of the Orientation and/or Tutoring Programme should not by any means cover the same syllabus or act as substitute to the M-TTC or A-TTC; nor the tutor should take the role of the master, or senior alumnus or alumnus. For further clarity the tutor should not prepare the participants for teaching workshops or classes; cover sanskrit alphabets and phonetics; teach contents which require extensive experience such as: bandha, kriyā-śuddhi and prāṇāyama; naṭṭuvāṅgam; voice tuning and Navakaraṇa melodies.  Strictly no part of the manual should be copied and share to the participants of these programmes.

Faculties of the Mentoring Programme should review exclusively the contents of the completed Training. Mentors should not cover additional contents nor step ahead into tutoring future courses.
