Neti Pot

There is a quiet ritual that has been passed through centuries — simple in form, profound in effect.

Jalāneti is the act of cleansing the breath’s gateway. A gentle flow of water, guided through the nasal passages, restoring clarity, lightness, and space. It is a return to natural balance — where breath moves freely, and the body is less burdened by what it inhales.

The Navakaraṇa Jalāneti pot was not created in haste. It emerged over decades of practice, observation, and refinement. Each curve, each proportion, has been shaped through lived experience — in the subtle dialogue between function and sensitivity.

Its form rests naturally in the hand. The spout meets the nostril with ease, adapting to the uniqueness of each individual. The flow is measured, balanced — offering an equal cleansing to both sides, without excess, without disruption.

Crafted in Yakushima by skilled Japanese artisans, each piece is born from the earth. Made from pure terracotta, it is shaped, dried, and slowly transformed in traditional wood-fired kilns over about two weeks. Fire, air, and time work together to give the clay its strength, its warmth, and its quiet resilience.

Before it is ready, the pot undergoes “medome” — a traditional seasoning process where it is gently sealed with water and natural starch. This final step completes the transformation, closing the unseen pores and preparing the vessel for daily use.

What remains is not merely an object, but a companion to a ritual.

A piece that carries the memory of the elements, the care of the artisan, and the intention of the practice.
